7:10 to Chicago

It's finally here! Tomorrow morning we will be heading to Chicago to participate in this year's American Model United Nations Conference. I will be representing Italy on the Economic and Social Commission of the Latin America and Caribbean countries. Like many of the ladies, I'm feeling excited, confident, and nervous all at the same time. I can't wait to discuss economic issues and gender equality with the other delegates and I hope I can be persuasive enough to get a resolution passed. We have worked together as a team to keep each other on our toes on our assigned topics by helping each other on research, offering advice on different resources, and even practicing a similation of the Model United Nations. A combination of this preparation and guidance from Dr. Jones assures me we'll do proficiently at the conference. Not only do we have the confidence and courage to perform well at the conference, but we have the competence and commitment to represent Italy to our fullest potential.

We've been preparing for this conference since the summer, so I'm sure the Columbia College delegation will represent Italy, our school, and this state just fine.
